Alejandro Pena - Keter Group CEO

Alejandro Pena is the CEO of Keter Group, where he helms a global team of 5,000 employees. Keter Group manufactures sustainable, resin-based indoor and outdoor consumer items that are marketed in more than 100 countries.

Throughout his tenure, Alejandro Pena has led Keter Group’s transformation from a family-owned business to a premier worldwide consumer products manufacturer.

With an adventurous spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset, Alejandro Pena joined the Keter Group in 2017. His 25 years of consumer product experience, and a proven track record of reliable revenue growth and higher profitability, provide a solid foundation for his Keter Group career.

First, Pena excelled as the Keter Group’s North America Market Managing Director. Tasked with expanding the firm’s biggest, fastest-growing market, he easily met the challenge. These achievements led to his 2018 appointment as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Since then, Pena has steadily delivered year-over-year growth and company profitability.

Today, Alejandro Pena maintains a focus on Keter Group’s consistent product innovation and profitability. The company’s talented product team consistently introduces sustainably sourced consumer products to global markets. In recognition of the global digital economy, Pena leads the company’s omnichannel marketing strategy that integrates multiple distribution channels.

Concurrently, Pena favors business operations that also respect the environment. Operating with a circular economy mindset, the company consistently uses recycled materials in all its resin-based products. For perspective, Keter Group is the industry’s biggest user of post-industrial and post-consumer industrial plastics in its manufacturing processes.

In addition to sustainable manufacturing, Alejandro Pena prioritizes ethical business activities and supports the communities in which the firm does business. This emphasis on Environmental, Social, and Governance (or ESG) principles reflects his commitment to accepted 21st-century business practices.


Prior to joining Keter Group, Alejandro Pena first worked at Rubbermaid, where he gained useful product management and branding experience. Next, he joined Sunbeam, a respected consumer product company that later became the industry-leading Jarden Consumer Solutions. Here, he successfully managed the company’s brands throughout North America.

In 2017, Pena executed a significant course change, joining the BC Partners private equity fund that had previously acquired Keter. Since that time, and more recently as the Keter Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Pena has focused on transforming the company into an innovative consumer-centric business with an expanding global footprint.

Pena’s education helped to provide a solid foundation for his Keter Group career. He first earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Following that achievement, he earned his marketing-focused MBA from The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
