Summer Garden Entertaining Ideas

Summer, summer, summertime. Time to sit back and unwind? Quite often, yes. But summer is also the very best time for entertaining and making the most of your outdoor space with a summer gathering.

If you are looking for a series of different ideas of how to make the most out of your garden this summer with friends or family, then you don’t need to look any further. At Keter we have compiled the below list to give you as much scope as possible when looking at garden entertaining ideas this summer.

Here are our ideas for fun things you can do in your garden with family and friends.

Fire up the barbecue

The go-to for when temperatures creep past 25℃, us Brits love a barbecue. Sizzle some sausages and burgers, make your own kebabs, and don’t forget corn on the cob with lashings of butter wrapped in foil.

Cheer on your team

Bring the indoors out and set up an outdoor projector to watch your favourite sport on the big screen with friends. Why not accompany Wimbledon with al fresco strawberries and cream, or raise a glass in support of the teams at the Women’s Euros.

Glasto eat your heart out

Festivals are back! And if you missed out on Glasto tickets this year, all is not lost – simply set up your own mini festival for friends and family in your garden. Invite them to each perform a song and dance the night away.

Time for tea?

If barbecues aren’t your bag, why not serve traditional tea and cake to your guests? We love a lemon drizzle eaten on a picnic blanket – there’s something quintessentially British about it, come rain or shine.

Jump in the pool

Whether you’re lucky enough to have a proper pool or you’re simply filling up the paddling pool, splashing around in cold water is just the thing when the mercury rises. The paddling pool can also double as a jumbo beer cooler.

Marvel at nature

From the tiniest spider, right up to badgers, hedgehogs and wild rabbits, our gardens are home to an amazing array of wildlife. Encourage your kids and their friends to spot and record all the animals and insects they can see in your outdoor space.
